Positioning is about where you live in the mind and body of prospects, clients and customers.
What is the space they reserve in their being for YOUR business? Is it a unique one? Or are you jumbled in with 100 other choices that are kind of similar?
Becoming a market of one rarely happens by accident. It is engineered.
To create that result, you need certain ingredients. Certain pieces of a puzzle that make it clear you belong in a class unlike anyone or anything else in the marketplace.
Above all, this requires a clarity of signal that most businesses don’t put in the work to create.
Using A.I. to generate your marketing is one very effective way to destroy this signal.
You trade in REAL for FAST. In the short term, you might think it’s a good deal. In the long term, it destroys your value.
When you use the Borg to create an email, you’re not getting the product of a single human being, you’re getting an email written by 1,000,000 people.
That’s why it feels dead. That’s why it is flat and meaningless. It was written by a “committee.”
It is the product of an endless sequence of asking the question, “What is the next word most people would put here?”
If you want to be like “most people,” go ahead and use it.
If you want to stand out, run away from it like the plague.
Can you see what is happening “out there?” We are witnessing the herd participate in a wide-scale homogenization exercise where their unique voice is being erased…slowly…permanently. They are so brainwashed they are actually afraid they will “miss out” on having their signal be destroyed.
They’re not being told about this, of course. It’s being done very gently. The Borg is decorated with so many bells and whistles that the members of the herd are WILLINGLY running to its prompt box. They are, by their own consent, ending the daily practice of crafting and refining the signal they send out into the world.
This is why you delete so many of these emails from your box. Because they’re worthless.
What can you do?
- Don’t think like the herd.
- Don’t act like the herd.
- Don’t write like the herd.
- Use this as an opportunity to stand up, stand out and craft a unique place in the marketplace that makes you the only obvious choice.
