By the Ocean

My daughter, Deva, turned eight yesterday. She chose her birthday to ride her first real wave on her surfboard.
My wife’s surfing “addiction” has been transferred to several members of the family, all of them female. I didn’t know it was a contagious thing, but I learn something new every day!
So I spend a lot of time watching the little kids swim in the ocean while they go out surfing.
Here is a picture of Deva from yesterday coming out of the water after surfing…
One of the biggest lessons you learn when you have 10 kids is that most of what you were told is important in life just isn’t. And you also learn that if you don’t arrange your own life where the important things are actually the priority, you will fail…it won’t matter how “successful” or “rich” you become. No one will care. You’ll still fail.
I’m sure people learn these lessons without kids, but apparently, the Universe needed to make the lessons super obvious for me to make sure I didn’t miss them.
In honor of Deva’s latest trip around the sun, for the next 48 hours, I’m offering 25% off on Do What You Love and Prosper, the 30 Day Business Reinvention, and Consultations. Use code HAPPYBIRTHDAYDEVA at checkout.
I don’t do this type of thing often so I trust the right people will take action while this is available.
Your life is a blank canvas on which you’re supposed to paint a picture that fills you with joy. Business can be an important tool to make that life happen. But it’s up to you to decide that. You get to decide where your time goes, where your awareness goes, what you choose as the priority for your focus and effort.
Build a life worth living. That’s about the only real “goal” I have.
