My wife is addicted to surfing…
Addicted is probably the wrong word. I don’t know. The only thing I’ve ever been “addicted” to is coffee. I CAN live without it, but I don’t want to. 🙂
What do you call a thing that, when you do it, all of the cells of your body, mind and spirit align to produce joy?
Addiction doesn’t carry the right connotation for that to be the appropriate word here.
But that’s what happens to her. Pure joy. In the midst of doing something hard. Where most of the time you “fail.” Just joy. You should see her face when she comes out of the water. That’s one of my favorite parts. To witness someone you love doing something they love.
Whatever the right word is for this state, that’s what my wife is being. Which is why we’re strapping the surfboards to the car in a few hours and heading north to the bigger waves of the North Shore.
I get this same feeling when I’m talking to someone and I feel their sense of self and direction in business align. When they connect with who they truly are and start to imagine what that could mean for their future in business. There’s an energy that appears out of nowhere. You could call it excitement, but that’s not really deep enough to communicate what’s going on. It’s like the feeling you get when you meet an amazing, fascinating and valuable person.
In this case, all I’m doing is introducing someone to themselves! That’s really exciting. Because you’re amazing. And you SHOULD feel that about yourself. You need that awareness for when you go out and build your business. It makes a huge difference in the results you get. What you expect influences what you get.
Everyone CAN experience this feeling. The feeling of total alignment with Self in business. But the Matrix has tried for your entire life to make sure that never happens.
It’s manipulated you to do things you don’t want to do, be around people you don’t really like, and endure countless experiences that leave you with less energy than when you started. This is not LIVING, it is just existing.
The power you have is to decide whether or not you are willing to tolerate that for the rest of your life.
Business is being of service to the world in a way you never forget just how unique, powerful, valuable and amazing you truly are.
If what you’re doing right now doesn’t make you feel alive, that’s a clue it’s time for a change.
