In a world where the great A.I. borg will supposedly be doing more and more things, what will be left for the poor humans? The Matrix has so-well trained humans to fixate on WHAT THEY DO that the idea of that changing freaks people out.

Hallelujah. I consider this an amazing development.

Because when you’re packaging yourself up for the world, focusing on WHAT YOU DO is a great way to shortchange yourself.

  • I do X.
  • I make X.
  • I deliver X.

When you ask them “what makes you unique,” the answers all revolve around what they DO, differently.

Do, do, do.

“You can’t be valuable unless you do!” says the Matrix.

To be fair, if you’re training people to be slaves, this is a thought you want them to have. Which is why the entire school system is designed the way it is.

But if you’re here to be FREE and to PROSPER, connecting DOING with VALUE is a problem that will infect everything in your business.

How you carry yourself…how you speak… how you charge.

When you “go up” a few levels, you leave the world of DOING and ascend to the world of ideas. These are pure energetic potential. This is the level where CREATION happens.

Since A.I. has no Soul, it has no new ideas. It has no access to the world of the unseen where great ideas are created. Know that anything it spits out for you CAME FROM SOMEONE or SOMETHING ELSE. It’s a pretty slick sales pitch. It gets you to pay for recycled material and acts like it’s new. “Refurbished ideas, only $20 per month!”

As the borg takes over more and more of the doing, humans are freed up to reconfigure the way they show up to make it powered by BIG IDEAS that inspire, empower and excite the marketplace.

The good news is that you can charge a lot more for this. The reason is because it wraps a big reason or purpose around the activity that you DO. And that big reason is what people will really pay for. The idea ALONE multiplies the value.

From my own past, there’s a limit to what people will pay for copywriting, marketing consulting, a lead generation campaign.

That limit flies out the window when they’re on a journey to become an Incomparable Expert. That’s a totally different quest. One that’s far more interesting and exciting.


If you spend most of your time explaining what you do to people and find their response less than exciting, perhaps it’s time to reimagine how you show up.


Stop shortchanging your own value by focusing only on “what you do.”
