What Is Required

Resenting your clients is a REALLY DUMB MOVE.

I know, I did it for a long time!

I was in a weird place at the beginning where the only thing worse than not having a client was actually HAVING A CLIENT.

Because I didn’t have the guts to ask the Universe for exactly what I wanted in terms of money, working terms, communication methods, scheduling requirements and clear as crystal boundaries, I got whatever the client wanted to give and then complained to myself about it.

This is so stupid it hurts.

  • No one will ever appreciate you enough.
  • No one will ever pay you enough.
  • No one will ever say thank you enough.

That’s not their job.

Their job is to say “Yes” or “No” to what you require.

Your job is to make it clear what is required to work with you.

If you’re expecting something you didn’t communicate was a requirement, good luck!

Everything you want to receive you must require. If you leave it up to chance, you open yourself to an emotional roller coaster based on what someone else does or does not do.

  • So if you want more money, require it.
  • If you’re out of the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, say it.
  • If you don’t do rush jobs, tell the world!
  • If you only work with clients who pay you 100% of the fee upon commencement, shout it from the hill tops.

Reality is not a cause, it is a response.

Believing that is the easy part. Acting like you believe it can take some work.
