The A.I. Revelation

It’s a tough road to sell the world something it doesn’t really need and doesn’t really care about.

You can chase the trends looking for that next hot thing. That’s one possibility.

Right now, that would mean you stop everything you’re doing and somehow figure out how to get excited about A.I., the seriously misnamed, rather unintelligent, pile of computers that understands the meaning of nothing it “creates” by stitching together stuff other people created. (Humans seem excited to feed this beast all of their creative data, just like they willingly did with every detail of their life when social media…hey Zuck!…came online. Eek!)

But chasing trends gets tiring. And humans are fickle creatures. A.I. will be the hot thing until that new A.I. powered cat dish tries to open up a cat’s head thinking it is a can of food. Oops… That will be the end…at least until round two. Humans will move onto something else.

Another way to succeed in business is to focus on the things that don’t and won’t change. At least not quickly.

Human beings fall into this category. We are pretty much the same as we have been for a very long time.

The way you create value for a human is to solve a problem they have. Value is created when something or someone is useful. That might be powering their home or transporting them away from their boring life through a video.

While the business news usually focuses on the new thing, they always leave behind the huge trail of unsolved problems that humans are waiting to resolve.

Can you solve one of those? Can your product or service provide that solution that makes their life easier, better, more enjoyable, richer?

The internet and social media borg do a great job of LIMITING vision. Social media is designed to slowly trap you in your own echo chamber of ideas so that you think that’s the whole world.

No, it’s just YOUR world. A controlled world. An engineered world that bears no connection to reality.

In reality, the number of opportunities to make life better for other humans has never been greater. There are more problems than ever waiting to be solved.

In addition to that, human beings are starved for connection, for meaning, for a real exchange of life force.

Human beings are more valuable than ever. The A.I. “revolution” won’t diminish that, it will only make it more obvious to people who aren’t asleep.

Perhaps it will eventually be called the “A.I. Revelation.” Who knows.
