When you focus on selling to people with no money, you eventually come to believe that money is a scarce resource.
When you focus on selling to people with money, you eventually come to believe that money is plentiful and available to almost anyone who understands how it works.
The difference isn’t the money, the difference is your choice of focus and your belief about what is true.
Your beliefs are the invisible software creating the reality you inhabit. If you don’t like what you’ve got, one place to look is at what you believe.
I was raised to believe money was evil. What a way to get a kid started! “Go Jason. Let’s see how much fun you have with THAT one!”
When I grew up enough to understand that most of my beliefs were just OTHER people’s beliefs (most of which were based on fear, guilt, shame and division, eek!), I started getting a little more serious about reviewing the belief structure that was operating under the surface of my conscious mind and directing almost every area of my life and business.
I found most of my beliefs could not stand up to scrutiny. They crumbled quickly amidst the desire for truth. They dissolved and broke apart under the light of sincere investigation. And when I kept asking why, why, why, there were very few answers other than “because.”
My religion cult was “right?” Everyone else’s was “wrong?” That’s what I was taught to believe.
But I only believed that because I CHOSE to believe it. There was no more inherent truth to my religion than anyone else’s. No one mentioned that! In fact, if you ever uttered anything obvious like that, you were shown the door! “You poor sinner, we will pray for you.” Oops.
Beliefs don’t require proof, of course. That’s why they are called beliefs and not facts.
No one cares who you choose to help in your business. But if the people you are helping lead to struggle for you, WHO exactly are you helping?
If the people you choose to help lead to an abundant life, does that make you more able or less able to make the world a better place?
There are no right answers here, only right questions. And one of the most important questions to ask yourself is whether or not you are DELIBERATELY choosing the people you want to work with in your business?
If not, why not? If not, why not change that? If not, why have you abdicated responsibility for selectively CHOOSING who is admitted to your reality?
The Matrix doesn’t mention we can do this. That we can actively REPEL people we don’t resonate with. Those who aren’t embodying the same values that we hold dear.
Looking back on my 25 years so far in business, I’d say that’s about the only true way to succeed: To keep out THAT WHICH DOES NOT BELONG…ACCORDING TO YOU.
Be discerning. Be specific. Be clear. Don’t compromise.
And believe whatever you want. Just don’t act like beliefs aren’t a choice. They represent the planting of seeds that will become your tomorrows.
What kind of tomorrow do you want to live?
