If you’ve got 20 apples lined up and they’re all green…except for ONE that’s red…guess where human attention will collect?

It’ll collect on the red apple.

In the world of business building, this is only STEP 1: getting attention.

Look at what folks are currently doing to get attention. They’re interrupting you, all day long, with various levels of manipulation, to get you to do the thing THEY want you to do.

If someone in your physical presence was trying to do this, you’d very quickly show them the door. That’s the appropriate response. Somehow, people tolerate this online.

But it’s a dumb way to start a relationship. Because HOW you get attention becomes the foundation upon which everything else is built.

Humans are not attracted to desperate. And showing the world you need them to do something so you can move forward is desperate.

If you refuse to act that way, you fire up your creative genius to figure out a better approach.

One possibility is to become the flower that attracts the bee.

Flowers aren’t out there manipulating bees into coming by. The flower has aligned how it is BEE-ING 🙂 with what the bee wants. This is strategic, not tactical.

When you figure out how to do that in your business, everything changes.
