Positioning Alchemy

What you “do” isn’t really the most important piece of the puzzle in business success.

How you position what you do as the solution to a problem someone has is the important part.

You can “do” amazing things, but if those things aren’t clearly a solution to a problem SOMEONE has, that they want SOLVED, that they will PAY to have solved, that they have RESOURCES to exchange to solve…then it’s likely that your experience in business will be:

TOUGH.

This is why positioning is so important. It means choosing what version of the truth to tell the world that will generate maximum attraction to what you have.

This is mostly an art because it is the process of seeing things as they could be, not necessarily as they are currently being presented.

From my perspective, positioning is the art of alchemy. It’s where a lot of the money is hiding.

Yesterday, I had the final call with a client going through the Do What You Love and Prosper program. It’s eight weeks long and then we have a one hour conference at the end.

The goal is to focus a business and connect it with what you love to do in alignment with WHO YOU ARE.

We started with a bunch of “pieces” on the floor and no picture of how the finished puzzle should look.

And in the span of 60 minutes, the picture became clear.

The net result is a focused, clear, excited business builder who is ready to move forward on his journey to building success as he defines it.

The difference in those 60 minutes is simply in the degree of clarity. I didn’t bring any pieces, I simply arranged them, because that’s one of my “magic tricks.”

It’s hard to remember that there can be joy in the process of figuring it out. The Matrix fixates our attention on having it done, which is why so few people actually make the journey.

Do you want to build a business or do you want to have built one?

These are two different mindsets.

One is ready for the journey, the other is chasing a mirage.
