You Can’t Be Serious

Most people aren’t serious.

They aren’t serious about themselves, about their role in the world, about any change they are here to make.

The behavior of these people is always in alignment with that state.

How do you spot one of these critters? It’s not hard. They’re the ones who are still talking about doing the thing they were talking about doing last year.

“You’re not even serious,” is the most appropriate thing to tell them.

If you came to help the excellent become more excellent, the people who aren’t serious are not your people.

Even so, there is nothing more exciting than watching someone who is not serious flirt with the idea of becoming serious. I have done this many times.

Making this transformation for anyone else is not your job. In fact, my experience shows me it’s rather impossible. They either make the change themselves or it doesn’t happen. Someone else can’t do it for them.

If you’re one of the not serious people and you want to change, what’s the first step?

You can’t be serious until the moment you decide to care about something more than just getting through your day.

That’s the first step on a journey that can go really deep.

Why do you get up in the morning? Do you have a reason? Or do you just hop out of bed because there are things you “need” to do?

I did that for decades. And then I realized that was a waste of my life. Because need is not a creative act. It is the vibration of desperation and fear. It’s how most people live.

But not the serious people. Being serious doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, it means you have a level of focus on something that matters to you that supersedes your focus on other things.

What are you here to do? What do you care about achieving more than making it to 5 pm? What do you care about getting more than money? What is the change you want to see in the world by the time you leave it?

No one can answer these questions for you. Based on my own travels, I’d recommend you not start asking anyone what they think your answers are. Certainly don’t consult the A.I. Demon. Have more respect for yourself than to think a bunch of “super’ computers could reach into the cosmic field and come back with something useful for you.

Getting serious is one of the most important things you can do as a human. It’s the doorway through which you get on the road to BEING SOMEBODY, who DOES SOMETHING, who is GOING SOMEWHERE.

If you want to attract success in business, that’s the recipe.
