Who Am I Supposed to Hate Today?

Ever since I left social media completely, I don’t know what I’m supposed to be thinking. Who I’m supposed to be hating. What I’m supposed to be focused on so I don’t see something else that’s going on behind the curtain.

Who knew that complete “ignorance” could be such a fertile ground for profit.

Because when you don’t have that information stream impacting your imagination, it turns out that your own being comes up with its own stuff that’s unique.

And unique SELLS. Provided that UNIQUE is focused in service of solving someone’s problem.

When you don’t pollute your mind with the agenda of others, your mind travels to places no one else is going.

I just got done rewriting someone’s email sequence this morning after I saw that Chat GPT was used to puke out the first version.

Sending that would be embarrassing. Not to mention dumb. And it’s happening everywhere. Which means if you DON’T do it, YOU STICK OUT.

As I read through the slop, I realized Mr. GPT had nothing interesting or valuable to say. He’s like that friend you have that takes 400 boring words to do the work of 2 meaningful words. That person you just wish would stop dumping on you every time he comes around.

I don’t blame the Slop Bot, it’s just a pile of metal. It’s doing the best it can. I am more mystified by the humans who feel that mediocrity is something they should tolerate. I do wonder about humans who have lost touch with the strategy of CARING enough about your prospective buyers that you treat them well. I am surprised by the people who think that they will “fall behind” if they don’t participate in the active dumbing down of everything.

Rule #1 of business is: don’t do stupid things.

One thing that qualifies is tolerating mediocrity. I wasn’t raised this way so it’s not a language I speak. I’m the kid who spent hours every day practicing the piano…for decades. I’m the kid who personally took the journey from beginner, to amateur to pro and beyond. I’m the guy who knows there is no destination on the journey to mastery…that “better” is always possible.

Because of this, I have to stay far away from mediocre because I am allergic to it. I break out in hives.

These tools coming online seem to make mediocre people believe they can hide their true condition. But the tools don’t hide it, they amplify it so everyone can find out more quickly.

If you want to win, don’t be normal. Don’t be mediocre. Don’t be average.

None those of groups wins. At anything. Ever.

Develop competency. Transform it into excellence. Because excellence is the answer. It’s been that way from the beginning. That’s not going to change.
