Versions of the Truth

You get to decide whether the marketing for your business is based on lies or based on truth.

“The warehouse sprang a leak, ruined the cover on these manuals so we’re letting them go for half-off…” is marketing based on lying.

If you choose that path, you’re reading the wrong newsletter. I have suggestions for better options upon request. The list is a mile long.

If you choose the other path, the one where marketing is based on truth, the next question is “which version of the truth do you want to tell?”

There are infinite versions of the truth. Those versions are created by choosing different variations of focus, buyer, problem, solution and other criteria.

Which version is right?

The one that maximizes the value you offer the world that most fully serves your buyer.

That’s all you get. A bunch of puzzle pieces with no picture on the front of the box for how they go together.

This is what makes business far more like art than science.

When you view it that way, your role as business owner evolves from the manipulator of processes for a specific result to the creator of a vision you wish to see made real in the world.

Instead of every day being a race to the finish line, each day is transformed into the opportunity to create magic.
