The Reason People Buy

The reason people will stop using A.I. to do writing is because they will (eventually) notice that humans don’t respond to it.

The reason they don’t respond to it is because it has no emotion.

And emotion is the only reason people buy. If you sell anything, this should be obvious to you. No emotion, no sale.

What that means is that this “timesaving” miracle of technology is receiving the attention of humans without offering anything satisfying in return.

No human will stay in a relationship like that for long. They will move on to something else when they feel no connection to the slop the Borg spits out. Humans don’t want words on a page, they want to feel alive.

This is quite an opportunity for anyone willing to double down on humanity. You don’t need to do it for moral or ethical reasons, you can do it because that’s where the money is. It actually seems to be the best practical decision you can make.

Humans buy based on emotion. The Borg has no emotion. So using it to write sales copy would be a little bit like trying to use a firecracker to power a rocket to the moon.

It’s the wrong tool for the job. And it will make you look like you’re not serious if you put it in front of your clients and customers.

I don’t expect this realization to happen very quickly. A.I. is just too easy. It’s just like the latest weight loss jab poison: “Who cares what happens down the road, I’m looking for an easy button TODAY baby!”

There’s plenty of time to execute this “zag” while everyone else is busy “zigging” and believing the hype. So you can give this some thought before you do anything “crazy” and step away from the GPT bot.

The better you get at feeling, the better you get at selling. Without feeling, they’ll just buy from someone else.
