You don’t need to be popular to be effective. Popular requires the permission of others. Effective does not.
Hubris tells you to invest energy trying to change what is beyond your control.
Wisdom tells you that is not worthy of your life.
In business, the Matrix presents us with conditioning that creates problems that seem to have no solution:
How can you be effective if no one pays attention to you? If you can become popular, then everything will be different.
Like most things, the Matrix sets you off down a path that keeps you busy, frustrated and chasing a goal that is not within your power to grant yourself.
This is why there are so many miserable people.
Effective has nothing to do with popular. It CAN, if you believe it must. But it doesn’t. Because you can create effective with 99.9999999999999999999% of the world having no idea you exist. Ask me how I know.
Effective is valuable. It is attractive. It is contagious.
Less energy on exposure, more energy on achievement. This is the way.
Your work won’t speak for itself, but the people for whom you do it WILL speak. Because excellence is energizing, inspiring, empowering, REMARKABLE.
Success is a byproduct of helping other people succeed, not trying to “get the word out” about what you do.
