The Mission We’re On

I spend a lot of time helping business owners figure out which way to go.

I didn’t learn how to do this anywhere. I was just made this way.

The funny part is, I do this while very rarely having any idea which way I should go.

The Matrix says there’s no way I could possibly advise people in this area when I can’t do it myself. I think that’s the line the borg usually uses.

Here’s what I’ve seen over the years:

The very thing you don’t do well, or have struggled with yourself, is often the thing you advise others about.

This is actually common sense. Because one of the prerequisites of helping someone is the ability to understand their condition and to see the world from their view.

The borg tries to make you feel like this is an issue. That you’re a “phony” if you teach people to do something you can’t do. But that’s an illusion. It’s made up. That scenario is no different than a swing coach advising a great golf player without actually being able to win tournaments himself.

The Matrix is tricky though. It can get you to feel guilt, shame and hesitancy about even your greatest gifts.

If you allow that to happen, things will SUCK.

We are on a journey of reclaiming full authority to be ourselves, to help others and to be rewarded for it.

Don’t let anyone make you feel small about a mission as worthy as that one.
