What is the “label” on the front of the “box” you inhabit in the minds of your prospects and clients?
The answer might be something that describes a “doing.” Maybe the label simply says what it is you DO. These types of labels tend to come with low fees and pressure for fast turn around times.
The answer might also be something that describes a “being.” The label on the box might just be your name…WHO you are. These types of labels tend to come with much higher fees and terms of engagement that are largely under your control.
If a prospect has no label on your “box,” and you don’t supply a clear suggestion for how to resolve that, your ability to maintain residence in his mind will decrease. Eventually, your box will be lost in the jumble and you will become a faint memory.
The goal is to be strategic about building your box, labelling your box and making it memorable.
Unfortunately, we’re dealing with sovereign human beings on the other end of this perception puzzle we’re working on.
So while you might want to be strategic about how you show up, it’s your prospects and clients who have the final say over what label goes on the box you inhabit in their mind.
The truth seems to be that, instead of having just ONE label that everyone puts on the box that represents you, each human being has a slightly DIFFERENT label, with a different meaning that is applied for different reasons.
This is enough to make any control freak go crazy.
Obsessing over what is out of your control is a silly thing to do. The powerful man sets his gaze only on that which is under his control.
What is under your control is the signal you broadcast, not how it is received.
The signal you broadcast comes through the demonstration of your value that you offer to the world.
- It must be true.
- It must be powerful.
- It must be unique.
The good news is that every single human being already satisfies these requirements.
The bad news is that few feel that. And even fewer BELIEVE it.
If that’s the case, then YOUR INTERNAL STATE is disrupting the quality of the demonstration of the value you offer the world.
The entire Matrix is built to keep you from getting yourself in the STATE where you can broadcast your true value. If you allow that conditioning to limit your power, you will lose, your clients will lose, the world will be a bit darker than it should be.
If you want your prospects and clients to put a clear “label” on the “box” you inhabit in their mind, then give them something worth labelling. Give them the full force of what you have, the purest signal you can gather, the most effective demonstration you can create.
Some people call it being “bold,” I just call it being fully YOU.
