The mistake is believing that someone else’s way through business has anything to do with your own.
We’ve done a GREAT job separating the thoughts, actions, strategies and tactics from the unique context of the specific HUMAN BEING that is using them.
This leads to thinking like…”if I want to be successful, all I have to do is X, Y and Z… just like that guy did!”
If that worked, far more people would be successful.
But it’s hard to find your path when you’re busy learning about how to walk on someone else’s.
Your path is unique. It’s here for you, no one else.
The gurus will tell you that “pioneers” get arrows in their backs. Don’t go your own way, just do “what works” and you’ll be far better off.
We look at what they achieved (if it’s true) and we say, “they must know what they’re talking about!”
And they do. They know what they’re talking about. FOR THEM.
Does that have anything to do with you? Who knows? But I certainly believed it did. And it added years of frustration to my journey in business. I believed the illusion of the successful and I paid the price.
You don’t need to take “massive action” when you are clear about the few actions that create all of the progress.
“Massive action” is what you do in the absence of clarity.
So the work is to get clear about YOU. From there you can start doing things. All of the secrets are found inside of WHO YOU ARE. Those secrets are the seeds you plant that will grow into the business you’re here to build.
And you don’t have to blaze the path like a warrior willing to risk it all for the prize. The path is already there, right in front of you. All you have to do is discover it, to learn to see it, and then start walking and never stop.
