The Art of Stopping

Very little of my suffering in business ever came from things I didn’t do. Virtually all of it came from things I did do that I should have stopped doing.

Everyone gets all excited about the new stuff coming for their business in this next year. “Look at all the new things we’re going to do!”

I’m excited about stopping even more things. Just cancelling them from my business without a second thought. Gone. Deleted. Poof.

I’m so enthused about this direction, I started making the changes months ago. My New Year came early!

They say you can’t win a game playing only defense, but I’m not so sure.

If you keep the wrong things, people, activities, habits, schedules, commitments, fees, OUT, the only things left are the right ones. And that’s how you’ll win: by quitting all of the wrong stuff.

One of the biggest challenges in business is constantly remembering that YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

You can choose your clients, you can choose your products, you can choose your services, you can choose your prices, you can choose your schedule, you can choose your mindset.

This is a simple idea that is easy to forget.

If you want to build a business you own instead of one that owns you, you can’t afford to forget.

You don’t need a New Year to make this change, all you need is a spine, and the will to make a choice.
