My goal isn’t success, it’s success on my terms, it’s success the way I want to do it.
We have plenty of examples of success. We also see the kinds of people who achieve it. That was never the kind of life I wanted.
I’m not willing to do ANYTHING to succeed. Not even close. Because success isn’t the most important thing to me. My values are. My principles are. My wife is. My family is. My children are. The message I’m here to share with the world is. The way I treat others is. To say that “success” comes anywhere CLOSE to those other things on the list would be a lie.
Once you start talking like this, the alpha guys go away. They write you off as “not willing to commit” or “not being serious.”
It’s ok if they think that. They KNOW how they succeeded and the normal thing for a human to do is to recommend that path to others.
But that’s not my path. I’m not here to do that. So that leaves me to figure out how I AM here to do it.
This is not a problem, this is the opportunity of a lifetime…literally.
In my humble opinion, that’s what we’re all doing here. We must discover this for ourselves. Which is why it is so ineffective to pursue success by following someone else’s example.
Their path has nothing to do with you. Learn the principles, master the fundamentals, hear their lessons learned, pack your mind with the strategies…sure, those are all great things.
But you need to filter that through YOU before you start making decisions and taking action.
Don’t be a sheep. Success teaches you a lot of things, but it doesn’t teach you how someone else is supposed to do it. Just because someone has a lot of money or influence doesn’t mean they have any truth for you.
So step boldly, step confidently, follow that voice you have inside about which way is right for you to go.
You’re far more capable than you realize, far stronger than you feel. And despite what is going on at any one time, you’re in exactly the right place for your journey.
Learning how to accept that with gratitude while you reach for your dreams is the work.
There are countless “successful” people who never master that ability.
