Social Media Slop

As we’re once again watching the social media borg’s ability to train humans who don’t know each other to hate each other, you have to ask yourself whether or not you want to sully the reputation of your business by showing up along side that slop.

If you’re going to wrestle with a pig, you’re going to get dirty. Even if you just sit beside the pig at dinner, chances are good you’re going to walk away with some mud on your clothes. And social media is a pig. Designed to divide, to manipulate, to coerce, to brainwash, to indoctrinate…without anyone even noticing.

What would I do if there was a human like that in my life who was doing the same thing?

I’d never talk to him again. Because I don’t entertain that kind of vibration in my field for very long. Either I leave or they do.

Right now, I’m working with a new client who has a pretty big YouTube channel. He got it taken away for awhile, and now it’s back.

What’s priority number 1?

It’s the same priority that existed back in 2003:

Build an EMAIL LIST.

My client has one but not one nearly as big as his YouTube following. So we’re going to fix that.

This is not hard. It is also not sexy. Which is why so many people skip over this step and build their entire business empire on sand.

IF YOU DON’T OWN THE PLATFORM, it’s only a matter of time before something stupid happens.

A backlash is coming. I don’t know when it will happen, but I do know it will happen. When enough humans wake up and notice they’re being fed the equivalent of electronic junk food, they’re going to go searching for some real meat, for something that has substance, for something that matters.

The best way to be ready is to start serving that today. Stand for something. Solve real problems. Broadcast it. And maybe stay away from relying on communication platforms that are trying to turn humanity into slaves.
