Can you really “get the word out” about your business if no one is listening?
Is posting something (or a lot of things) on “social” media actual business building work? Or is it just the activity they’ve trained the slaves to think has value when, for most people, it has little to no value?
If social media was a human in your life, someone with whom you had a relationship, looking back on the last year… would you keep this person around?
- What has it offered to you?
- What has it received from you?
- Is the relationship completely lopsided where you just give and give and then give some more?
- Was whatever it brought to your life worth the amount of time, attention, mind space you offered it?
I have it easy. Because I’ve never been a popular kid. Not in school. Not in life. The masses don’t flock to what I have. I’m largely invisible (or crazy) to most of those people. And that’s why “social” media reminds me of high school. There are cool kids and dorks. Cool kids get attention, dorks get ignored.
I’ve never been a “go viral” type of guy. So I don’t have to get my hopes up about that changing. I don’t bother. Luckily, this realization has saved me from wasting my life trying to get noticed.
Which means if I want to grow my Universe and reach more people I might help, I need to find other ways.
These days on social media, I don’t spend time there for business, I just pay to show up. I pay for the privilege of trying to help someone (through these emails) for free…without demanding anything in return.
It takes 60 seconds a day to check in on the campaigns I’m running and I’m done.
The important thing is not the method. The important thing is that you develop a dependable source for bringing new attention into your world.
THIS IS WORK.
But that’s what I do. I help people do the real work. (This will never attract the masses because they don’t want to work, they want to enjoy the results of HAVING WORKED without the working part.)
Tomorrow, I’m taking a group through the process for figuring out how to “make it rain” in their own business. The focus is on creating a lead generation method that works. (The deadline to enroll is midnight, today, Eastern time US.)
Step one is to watch a presentation I made about the strategy part. Step two is a one-on-one meeting where we’ll create a customized lead generation plan.
I haven’t offered this for a while and now seems like a good time with it getting more and more difficult to REACH the people you are trying to help.
I imagine it’s not an accident how this whole “social” media thing is going. Reach is influence. Influence is power. Power can transform the world. The Matrix doesn’t want you to have any of it. That way, it can tell you how you’re going to live.
Here’s the important question:
What is your plan for communicating with more people TOMORROW than you are TODAY?
If you don’t have a plan to answer that question, get one, follow it, refine it, fix it, optimize it, and never stop.
If your Universe, the group of people from which you will attract future clients and customers, is not growing, it is dying.
