As the A.I. Cancer continues to spread throughout the land, certain assets in the business world are rapidly appreciating in value.

Trust is one of them.

My kids make fun of Mr. Chat GPT now because they’ve already proven to themselves that it has no idea what it is saying. And that if they trust what the bot pukes out onto the screen, bad things can happen, including looking extremely stupid.

They don’t trust A.I…ALREADY. How do you fix that? I have no idea.

Trust is a funny thing. You can’t see it. You can’t buy it. You can only earn it. And you can erase it ALL in a single act.

What is that worth? It’s worth everything. Because it’s the foundation on which everything THAT LASTS is built.

You don’t hear a lot of gurus out there talking about trust though. Like “excellence,” trust only sells to the winners. And if you’re not interested in being a winner, you’re probably looking for faster lanes to success. Just get yourself a few A.I. Agents and maybe you can work something out that way. 🙂

I dislike A.I. because it’s not real, it has no depth, it lacks the wisdom required for navigating the world and it is bizarrely mediocre (or worse) at too many things it tries to do. I’m an artist. Every human is. So I’m here to do art. A.I. is artless because it can’t create. Plus, I don’t believe humans need more things to give their power away to. We’re really good at that.

Despite my opinions about the bot, I stopped arguing with the Universe a long time ago. And frankly, this is a huge opportunity for anyone with common sense who understands that HUMANS DON’T WANT TO BE SERVED BY PEOPLE OR THINGS NOT WORTHY OF TRUST. Hardly a revolutionary idea.

Do the right people trust you? That’s the question to ask yourself.

If not, it doesn’t matter how well you can sell. It won’t be enough.

The good news is you can build trust from NOTHING. It takes time, it takes making promises and keeping them, it takes consistency, it takes empathy, it takes understanding. Most of all, it takes the commitment to invest prior to seeing any return. If you want to create a “moat” around your position in the marketplace, TRUST is one way to do it. Almost no one will bother copying you. And chances are good, that most anyone who tries just won’t have the grit to keep going.

What happens in a marketplace when 99% of the sellers aren’t trusted?

We’re on our way to finding that out!

Despite what you may have heard, it’s not hard to be in the 1%. All it takes is making a choice to do it.
