Most people aren’t serious.
They aren’t serious about learning. They aren’t serious about focus. They aren’t serious about improving. They aren’t serious about mastery. They aren’t serious about who they are, why they are here and marching towards their destiny no matter what.
These people get ignored. Not because they’re unworthy as humans, but because you can’t want success for someone more than they want it for themselves.
Or at least I can’t. (I’ve certainly tried.)
This is an enormous opportunity for any business owner who is here to achieve something important.
Because it’s easier than ever to stick out and rise to the top. Most people are just making noise, and then they quit, or move on to the next thing.
They dig down two inches, hit a pebble, and stop.
You don’t want to be one of these people because there’s no gold two inches below the surface. You have to dig. And then you have to keep digging.
If you stick with it, you’ll watch as all of the unserious people fall away. “I’m tired… it didn’t work… it’s not worth it…” The excuses are endless. The progress is minimal. Soon, you’ll be in a very small group of folks. I like to call these people:
WINNERS.
Many of these people are quite successful. Some are extremely wealthy. All of them are going somewhere that matters.
You want to be around more of these people and less of the unserious ones. That’s why you design your systems to attract WINNERS.
I was a people pleaser for the first half of my business life, so I thought that the unserious people were responding to me. I thought that, if I acted in a different way, they would engage and get moving.
I was wrong.
Take a look at all of the people around you. Prospects, clients, friends, family.
My hunch is that some (maybe many?) of them don’t deserve you. They have not done much to show they are worthy of being in your world.
Why are they there? You get to choose who is in your circles. So if you don’t have a good reason to give them energy, then perhaps it’s time to pull it back?
The Matrix doesn’t tell us we can do this, it says we have to tolerate, compromise, deal with it, accept less than perfect.
How about “NO?”
When you become discerning about who receives your attention, every area of your life improves.
When it comes to clients, this is an extremely important habit to develop. If you don’t, you end up tolerating clients that suck. I know because that’s what I used to do.
This creates unnecessary suffering that is all your own doing.
It’s a byproduct of refusing to reject what doesn’t belong on the level at which you want to play.
There’s nothing wrong with saying “you don’t belong here.” This is the way it should be. This is how you clear your field of vision so it’s not littered with people who have no interest in playing at your level.
If you want to upgrade the people you attract, lower your tolerance for anything BUT those people. Build things tuned to find those people.
You can still be kind, you can still be compassionate. But you have to be clear.
Investing energy in prospective clients who don’t deserve you is a losing proposition. It will affect your confidence, your enjoyment, your fees and the future success of your business.
Stand up. Be bold. Attract the people who are worthy of a portion of your life.
The real asset you need to acquire in your business isn’t money, it’s a rock-solid belief that you are worthy of everything you desire.
