Stop trying to make people want what you have. Trying to control another human so that you can eat is a recipe for insanity.
People want what they want. You are not going to change that.
Humans are already filled with desire for pretty much everything! You don’t need to create that. It’s pretty much impossible, at least for any sustained amount of time.
Human desire is something you work with, it’s not something you change.
When you’re building a marketing system to generate sales, you are channeling demand. You are guiding and directing it. You are telling stories, offering demonstrations and providing proof that the journey for your prospect to get what he wants goes RIGHT THROUGH your product or service.
When you do that, you don’t have to chase the sale, it will find you. But that sale is a byproduct of the existing demand living in the heart and mind of the buyer. If they could get what they really want without buying your stuff, they would!
Understanding this helps you make smarter decisions, more strategic decisions. And it allows you to give up trying to use brute force to change things that don’t easily change.
Why does business have to be hard? Is loving someone hard? Is taking your child to the park hard? Is sitting watching the sunrise hard?
No. Because we’re not trying to change those things or manipulate them into doing what we want. We’re doing something else.
So why is business hard?
It’s hard because we make it that way. What if we stop and try something different?
