Ending the Battle

It’s easy to treat business like a battle, because that’s most of what you see. There’s a winner, there’s a loser, there’s what you want, there’s what they want.

“What do I have to do here to get what I want?” is a common question we’re taught to ask if we play this game in the Matrix.

The net result is an enormous amount of resistance all created by YOU.

The way you melt that resistance is to figure out how to want what your prospective buyer wants.

That shift in perspective will change everything you think, say and do.

Once you have that alignment, the next step is to demonstrate it. I am partial to the slow and steady approach via a media platform because nothing else I’ve seen is sustainable or a way to reach your prospective buyers that they actually ENJOY engaging with.

When you do this right, people will actually find VALUE in consuming your marketing. They will LOOK FORWARD TO RECEIVING IT. (If you want help getting your media platform going, we can work through all of the strategy and design to make something great in 60 minutes.)

The objective is to make it obvious to prospective buyers that you have the same goal they have. Can you imagine how exciting this must be from their end? To finally find someone you can trust who cares about where you want to go? Someone who doesn’t make it seem like they are just manipulating you with a countdown timer or limited-time opportunity to get your money?

After that, once you get their attention, you never divert your gaze from helping them move towards what they want, which is now what you want, which means everyone is there for the very same reason.

Not only will this elevate YOUR position in the relationship from provider/expert to PARTNER, but it will increase your power to lead. Since YOU know the way to the Promise Land, and they know and trust that’s the destination of the journey, they will happily FOLLOW.

So many of the “normal” challenges of business aren’t there because that is its nature, they exist only because we create them.

If we create something better, everyone can win.
