Cutting Through the Noise

If you’re not speaking out in the marketplace, then your prospective buyers are paying attention to someone who is.

Right now, the Cult of the Untalented is making the interwebz a rather noisy place to be!

Ever since the State locked the people at home for a few years like slaves, everyone is an expert.

But that won’t last. Because they won’t last. Because you can’t fake talent. And that’s what we see. People without much skill, with little experience and almost zero insight or depth living out their addiction to their social media device in front of the world trying to get you to buy something.

Look at me, me, me! I know some of these people. I know what their lives are really like. And it’s not the fairytale they’re puttin’ out for the world. But we all know this.

So while that charade is playing itself out, it’s an excellent time to ask yourself how YOU are making the world a better place for your prospective buyers even if they never buy anything from you.

How are you DEMONSTRATING your value to the marketplace? How are you showing them so you never need to tell them?

I’m partial to the media platform approach. I’ve been using it to feed my 10 kids since 2011. That’s where you build a publication worth watching/reading/listening to, that slowly builds attraction in the marketplace to what you have. You can get the framework and strategy here. It’s very simple and straightforward. DOING it is what separates the serious people from the dabblers.

What does it mean to your prospective buyers when you show-up, as promised, over and over again with something helpful?

This is way beyond posting on social media because that type of content creation is not strategic. And once that finger swipes too far, all of your work gets flushed down the drain, never to be seen again. Oops. You get to start over tomorrow!

Don’t allow the social platforms to brainwash you into giving them free work that doesn’t benefit you after today. Be more strategic. Create leverage. Do something that builds a body of work that PULLS the right people to you.

P.S. The second edition of How to Get Kick-Ass Clients is now on Amazon. It’s a good fit if you’re a freelancer and you’re looking for some wisdom that can help you make more, work less and enjoy life more fully. If you’ve already read it, leave a review and tell the world!
