Belief Blindness

It’s way less likely that challenges in business come from the stuff you don’t know.

It’s far MORE likely that the challenges in business come from what you think you know that is wrong.

The reason why is that the stuff you think you know is completely immune to analysis. You just believe it’s so. And because of that, it runs your life.

Belief is the end of critical thought. This is why religion can be so dangerous. If you refuse to analyze, you open up yourself to blindness.

The things you “know” create the boundaries within which you run your business. They form the structure inside of which you make decisions.

If your act of belief removes the option of something outside of that existing, then you build a conceptual cage around yourself that controls what you can achieve.

One way out is to refresh your eyes. Start looking at each part of your business and asking for a full “accounting” of why it’s there, why it operates that way, and whether or not there might be a better option.

When you start hitting things that “everyone does,” take a few extra moments and ask yourself if you want to be like “everyone” or if you want to be like YOU. And then see what creativity your mind expresses about how that part of your business might go a bit differently.

You were trained, from birth, to look, compare and adapt.

What if you are here for something better?
