Your happiness as an expert in business is not controlled by luck, it is controlled by your ability to attract great clients.
When I started, I had no awareness that I would tend to attract people with some of the same “wounds” that I had.
Insecurity…a need for validation…people pleasing…lack of boundaries…a hatred for being controlled…clients were showing up with some of these qualities which made them very annoying to work with.
This is why, years ago, a much angrier version of my current self, started a website called “Clients Suck.”
I thought the clients were the problem. They were only the reflection. The real problem was me and WHO I was being. I was attracting these folks because parts of me WERE these folks.
In today’s Matrix, where victimhood has been exalted to a virtue, this attraction phenomenon is great news for anyone who is satisfied being a mind slave. It will not be hard to blame your clients for just about every problem in your life. You’ll attract the clients who best exhibit the qualities about yourself you dislike the most and that will be it. It’s easy. Anyone can do it!
Luckily, I slowly sorted things out. And I learned a lot of powerful lessons. I wrote a bunch of them down so they could help others.
Everything I learned pointed to one simple (not easy) truth:
If you want better clients, change YOU…and make yourself worthy of better clients.
