The hard part isn’t realizing all of the rules are FAKE. The hard part is stepping beyond their invisible boundaries once you’ve spent decades practicing those rules.
That can take some effort. Because practicing something for a long time entrains the mind and the eyes so that they can only focus on certain things. Everything else becomes invisible.
In this case, it’s OTHER POSSIBILITIES that become invisible. You don’t even consider them because you have been trained NOT TO consider them.
“None of the above” is a simple example:
In the Matrix, you are given choices and you must select one.
“NONE OF THE ABOVE” is not an option you are taught to consider. But it’s always there. It’s been waiting for you to notice. Because it’s in the noticing that you realize that the selection of choices you’ve been presented with have been curated to control you, not to help you.
“Would you like to use Visa or Mastercard to leave a deposit and hold this car?” I remember saying that on the phone years ago after I had finished the phone training section of my car salesman education. That sentence, which I thought was clever, accidentally leaves OUT the most obvious option, which is to not leave a deposit at all!
Tactics like this aren’t clever though, they are a sign of weakness. A sign of need. They are proof that you are not in control and that you would like to be.
This is how it goes in the Matrix too. It is actually WEAK. It is not in control. Only you are. But the perception it projects is all focused on getting you to believe a lie. It needs you to believe that you are a character in a movie written and controlled by someone else INSTEAD of the truth of the matter, which is that you are the writer, the director, and all of the characters…even the one playing the starring role.
If you allow your vision to be clouded by all of this conditioning, you can very easily spend your entire life BLIND. You will sit around wondering what to do next. You’ll go looking at other people for ideas. You’ll think a lot but come up with nothing. You’ll start to get frustrated because it will feel like the world has shrunk down around you and shown you just how little opportunity there is for you to succeed.
Allow this at your own peril.
You don’t need to accept the choices you are being presented to navigate from Point A to Point B.
Just start with the facts: You’re at Point A and you want to get to Point B.
From that point, approach the journey like a child. A child knows everything is possible. A child is curious about possibilities. A child knows what he wants. A child knows what he feels. A child is connected to his own truth in a way we adults dream of becoming again in ourselves.
Other people’s rules have nothing to do with you. Get your own. Live by them. Work with them. Use them to help others.
You are not limited by the rules of others. You are limited by the consent you give to them, the belief you have in their validity and the FEAR that makes you think a smart use of your life is to obey the Will of another human just like you.
