My wife sent me a nice message for this day, the Summer Solstice. I’m bleeping out the most colorful part only so the filters don’t keep you from reading its inspiring wisdom:
“The Sun doesn’t give a f*ck if it blinds you, the Solstice is an invitation to stop apologizing for your own light.”
Of course the Sun doesn’t care. Because it’s not here to please people. It’s here for a far more important reason.
You are too.
If you stop acting like that reason isn’t special, everything can change.
The Matrix tries a lot of things to control your light. It teaches you words like arrogant, and bragging and boasting. It criticizes people it deems “selfish” or “self-centered.” It works REALLY, REALLY hard to make sure you stay small and in line with all of the other sheep it controls.
I am grateful I stepped into the world of business all those years ago. Because that’s really the only path available that DEMANDS you figure out how to shine your light at FULL CAPACITY. If you don’t, you don’t eat!
Even so, depending on your level of conditioning, it can be a challenge. Peeling away those layers of programming that cause you to self-censor, to pull back, to stay quiet, to say Yes when you mean No, to stay seated when you want to stand up, to feel weird just taking up space, to think of yourself as “less than…” removing all of that TAKES WORK. IT TAKES TIME.
And it is worth it.
I called my dad today to wish him a Happy Father’s Day and to tell him that he did a great job, because I’m amazing.
He laughed.
