The reason you create a media platform is because it makes you better, over time, at communicating about the problems you solve and the people for whom you solve them. Publishing on a consistent basis, as promised, to your prospective clients and customers is all we’re talking about. It’s called SHOWING UP in a way that adds value to the world.
The never-ending iteration forces you to think about what you’re doing, to distill it, refine it, say it in ways where the understanding happens more quickly, with less effort.
This is a path to mastery. There are no fireworks. There’s no immediate payoff. There’s no party. Because publishing like this is a process, not an event. It is you, demonstrating your EVOLUTION and VALUE, in front of the world.
If you want to become great, I’m not sure how you get around this. You just either do it. Or you hide from doing it.
I’ve spoken for years about the simple media platform. A newsletter, a podcast, whatever. The gurus have reinvented themselves about 10 times since then. Right now they’re hyped up on the A.I. Juice. Give it a year, once the shine wears off (it’s already starting), it’ll be something else.
I’m just still saying the same thing: discover how to serve, in advance, far more people than you could ever work with. The End.
No one wants to publish a media platform. Most people WANT TO ALREADY HAVE PUBLISHED ONE, FOR YEARS. You don’t get that without putting in the time. It’s slow. It’s methodical. It’s all of the things that success really requires that the Matrix tries to get you to think are not required.
There seems to be a wave of folks who think they are masters of a thing after doing it for a few months. Maybe social media caused this delusion. Maybe A.I. did. I don’t really know. Maybe these people were always there. But now they’re just loud and blab on and on in ways that make it obvious they don’t know much of anything.
Despite what it seems, nothing has changed. Excellence still exacts a high price.
Excellence often attracts people with money who want to spend it. If you can deal with having prospects, customers and clients like that, then maybe that is the way?
Excellence has been the way for generations, I doubt it’s going to change.
