Surrendering to Slow

Nothing I do provides instant results. The only thing that even comes close is shifting someone’s perception of their journey through business or of themselves so dramatically that, in a single instant, everything changes about how they view the world.

Apart from that, everything else is SLOW.

Good things tend to be slow. Hard to get. Reserved for those who put in the work.

When it comes to certain topics, like growing a fruit tree, no one has a problem with that.

When it comes to business, for some reason, we’ve been trained to expect something different.

But look around. It’s not different. Generally, IT’S SLOW.

The good news is that, based on the last 25 years of my life, it’s very clear that the slow way IS the fast way.

The daily investment of time, effort and focus compounds in ways I can’t even explain, to produce far more than the sum of its parts.

Only winners are willing to take this road. Only people with vision do it. Only people who have some belief in themselves. Who have some understanding of and connection to the unrealized value they feel they are carrying around.

Everyone else is so busy looking for fast they forget the option of just surrendering to slow and making the decision to keep on walking.

I spent 20 years of my life practicing a musical instrument. I started at age six and kept going for a very long time. It was SLOW. I imagine it took a few years just to get to the point where having to listen to me practice didn’t feel like torture. Eventually, things got better. Way down the road, I developed a connection between the Song in my heart and what was coming through the keyboard. People could hear that. They could feel that. It changed them.

That is the journey of mastery. It is less popular (but more valuable) than ever because the Matrix has convinced the sheep there is something better.

But that’s a lie. Some discover that. Many never do.

On the road to mastery, it matters far less WHAT you do and far more that you just DO in the general direction of where you’d like to go.

Move. Get motion going. Keep motion going. Don’t stop.

When you give up the search for fast, you reclaim an enormous amount of time to focus on the NOW.

The NOW is the point of power where the work happens. So just settle in and do the work. Surrender to slow. It is THE way.
