Be About the Winners

There are people who buy and people who don’t buy.

There are people who pay for newsletters and people who don’t.

The misery starts when you think you can convert one type of human into another.

Most people do NOTHING. They invest in NOTHING. They are NOT interested in improving themselves AT ALL.

You will not change this. And that is not the goal.

The goal is to find the Winners. The people who are ready and willing to invest in acquiring solutions to their problems.

This is not most people. Most people just barely make it swiping through the screen TODAY so they can wake up and do it all again tomorrow.

There is nothing wrong with this. The problems only start when you entertain the idea that you can change someone from one group to the other. I’m sure it happens, probably not too often.

Find buyers. Those are the only people willing to exchange what is required for your help. Don’t bother with trying to figure out how to make non-buyers buy. It’s an uphill climb…forever.

You will find that the Pareto Principle makes itself known within this adventure. Maybe you’ll see that 80% of your prospect Universe does nothing and 20% does something. In my experience, the difference is even more lopsided. It’s more like 96% to 4%.

You can be quite successful serving the 4%.

This principle also applies to the INPUTS you invest to grow your business. I’ve had more results from three $.78 postage stamps on letters than I have from thousands of leads wrestled from their scroll-induced comas on Facebook. The quality, engagement and profitability aren’t even close.

The “Law of the Few,” as we could call it, shouldn’t create frustration, it should create focus. That’s what so much of my work is often about with business owners: going on a journey of focus, of achieving more by doing less.

Progress can be made, not by finding MORE people, but by taking your focus OFF more people.

Your ego doesn’t wont like it, your “list” won’t be 4 million people big or anything, but it saves you from a lot of frustration and wasted effort.

Most people you’re trying to reach are never going to do anything. When you stop hoping for that to change, everything gets a bit lighter.

Sift and sort. Be about the Winners.
