The Company You Keep

You don’t have to do it like everyone else. You don’t have to do it like ANYONE else.

It’s probably best if you don’t.

So when it comes to showing up in the marketplace in front of your prospective buyers, perhaps you should choose methods and channels that aren’t clogged with countless other voices?

Humans are weird. They make judgments based on the company you keep.

You wouldn’t show up to your prospective buyer’s home with a gang of hoodlums would you?

Is there an equivalent of that in the world of social media? Of course there is.

The reason that HOW and WHERE you show up matters is because, depending on your choice, it makes it far easier for your prospect to believe an “apples to apples” comparison is possible between you and their other choices. They commodify your value in their mind because you haven’t given them any clues to make that obviously inappropriate.

Showing up in ways and places that other people don’t can completely transform your experience in business.

Humans are trained to spot difference. They can do it very quickly. They can do it with even the most subtle of clues. Use that to your advantage.

This is why Human Design is such a valuable tool on this journey. It’s actually the science of differentiation. I think Wikipedia calls it “pseudoscience,” but I suppose the intel agencies that run that have their reasons…can’t have mind slaves waking up too fast!

With Human Design, you get insights you can validate (or invalidate, you’re in charge here not some piece of paper!) for yourself that you can use to STAND OUT, simply by being more of you.

What would it take to step out of the crowd and show-up in a way that is completely unique? You don’t need an answer right away. Just asking the Universe the question is a good first step.
