The benefit of publishing a media platform is that it never stops.
Just like a train running its route, it keeps coming around again and again for anyone who wants to get on.
We can learn a lot from the “train” when it comes to business. This is why I talk about it a lot.
YOU ARE THE TRAIN.
You are going somewhere.
Clients and customers who want to, can get on and ride towards that destination.
Trains have no attitude. They don’t care if you hop on or just wave as they pass by. They don’t get offended or have self-image issues. They just do what they do.
IT DOESN’T MATTER TO THE TRAIN what any one potential rider does because the outside world doesn’t affect the train. It is going where it is going for the people who want to go there.
Can you embody this clarity of purpose? Can you feel the power of this dedication to the mission? Can you master the ability to carry this deep level of caring about your path while at the same time having almost total emotional detachment regarding who chooses to ride with you or not?
This is how you do business without going nuts. You fortify the train and every other “problem” fades into the background.
How often do you follow-up with a prospective client or customer when publishing a media platform?
The answer is always the same: FOREVER.
- How long does the sun shine?
- How long will rain showers keep coming?
- How long will the birds sing?
FOREVER.
There’s only one rule you need to follow to make this work. The rule is simple:
Make sure that anything you ever send them leaves them BETTER OFF after engaging with it than they were before.
How many people in your life do this? How many people consistently “give without want” in a way that leaves you better off every single time they come by?
This is why it works. This is why it builds attraction. It demonstrates a wholeness that is attractive to humans.
This is not a tactic that works today and won’t work tomorrow. This is a long standing principle that humans are attracted to value.
Show up with it, without demanding anything in return, and people will pay attention.
