You have to care about something MORE than just getting the sale. And you have to stop caring about the sale coming from any one buyer.
The goal is to embody the energy of a train.
A train is helpful, it is unattached, it is going somewhere specific, it doesn’t care who gets on or stays off. It does not change its route or destination based on the whims of any one passenger. It is going to arrive at the intended destination no matter who is riding inside its walls. If you miss getting on, you’ll have to wait until it comes around again. It doesn’t turn back to pick up stragglers.
This is the energy that attracts. This is the energy that demonstrates to your buyer that you have something of value.
The train doesn’t need a sales pitch. It doesn’t have a sales funnel. It has no use for webinars or phone calls. Why? Because the alignment of WHAT IT IS, WHO IT’S FOR, WHAT IT DOES AND WHERE IT’S GOING is so ideal that people just pay for a ticket and get on.
Embodying this type of energy is not a magic trick, it is a habit. And it is the polar opposite of the energetic habit that the Matrix and its training programs have installed into most people.
The Matrix wants you to be “nice.” Not the genuinely kind type of nice, the “I have no spine” type of nice. It wants you to have weak boundaries. It wants you to allow your direction to be defined by others. It wants you to be deeply affected by the opinions of everyone around you. And most of all, the Matrix wants you to covet the acceptance of the herd more than anything else.
And we wonder why most businesses fail!
If you try to manipulate the buyer to a sale, they will resist. Forcing a buyer towards a sale is actually a sign of weakness not strength.
Look at everything that’s going on right now in your business. You are the one who called all of that in.
The way you are BEING, the way you are THINKING, FEELING and ACTING is what created what you’ve got.
This is extremely good news!
Because if you’re the cause of it, then you can cause something better.
Selling isn’t about what you do. It’s about who you are being.
Maybe 20% is about what you do. The rest is about whether your energy is that of a calm, focused leader or a needy, scattered people pleaser.
How did I get so good at “selling” myself? So good that I get paid very well to help other people do it too? Because I sucked at it so completely, so deeply, so comprehensively, that the amount of time I spent over the years fixing that gave me the equivalent of an advanced graduate degree in the art of attraction.
